More than two hundred alumni and their guests will be gathering to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the founding of The Bible Academy of Nazret, Ethiopia. The two day event will held on July 24-25 at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Springfield, VA.

It was a little over a year ago that an alumni, Anteneh Mehari, came up with the idea of celebrating this important occasion, our own golden jubilee. As daunting as the task may have seemed, Anteneh was very smart and lucky to have had help from such an esteemed group of people as Mimi Kebede (aka The General), her loyal officers, Mengistu Asebe, Alex Mehari, Girma Paulos, Abiy Zewde, Daniel Yohannes, Yonas Atle, Hyiwot Teshome and other dedicated foot soldiers.

Over a two day period, alumni and their guests are promised an affair to remember - mounds of delicious food and unparalleled atmosphere of love and friendship. A number of alumni are also setting up their own stands of ‘remembrance’, accompanied by pictures and mementos from their years at the boarding school.

During the Saturday evening reception, former teachers and students will give speeches and recite original poetry and short stories. The organizing committee also heard, thru the teen grapevine, demands of special time for guests of younger age so a movie of good taste and considered decency will be shown in a specially arranged room. Rumors about arrangements for fresh pizza, especially ordered for kids who will attend the screening, have been blowing around for days now. This reporter has now confirmed the rumors with the lieutenant who is leading the charge for fun, fun and more fun for kids.
